One of the shaped wall works heading to Lilo Blue at SpaceFor Britomart this October.
Anemone Guise: The dinner parties were unforgettable. Regrettably, the widowers had an unnerving tendency to disappear just before dessert.
See it in person at Lilo Blue, 27 October to 1 November.

Homes & Interiors Scotland
My painting Neptune Fly Trap has been featured in this month’s Homes & Interiors Scotland magazine
It’s part of their “Height of Fame” design edit – and I’m so chuffed to see it sitting proudly at the top of the page, surrounded by some seriously stylish pieces. If you spot it in the wild, I’d love to know!
Big thanks to the team at Homes & Interiors Scotland
Neptune Fly Trap has sold, but if you love the feel of this piece, I’d be happy to create something similar just for you.

Andrea Birtwistle, WellingtonI have two of Kirsty Black's pieces, purchased a few years apart, and I love how they reflect her evolving style. The fabulous colours and whimsical names of each artwork reflect Kirsty's personality on canvas perfectly.
Phil & Clare Matthews, Kapiti CoastKirsty's work is joyous and accomplished. Her use of colour and mark making to tell a story in her painting is masterful. Her work is most definitely something you want on your wall. We are loving our painting of some years. It is timeless and beautiful and still thrills us when we look at it.
Michelle, SydneyThe paintings travelled well, thanks largely to their amazing bomb proof packaging. We have many more public places for them and they look amazing, colourful, fresh and interesting. We both love them.
Kim, AucklandI now have 4 artworks of yours, all located in the house entrance/ stairs. I love the vibrancy and colour they bring to the space - everyone that sees them loves these works too!

Come and see where the art happens. My studio is in Maraetai, Auckland. Just make an appointment or call ahead and I'll put the coffee on. My work is also available online and through selected New Zealand galleries if you can't make the trip.
Kirsty Black is a contemporary abstract artist based in Auckland, New Zealand. She likens her work to adventures in colour. Bold, gestural paintings that bring joyful energy and movement to life on every canvas.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind, made with professional materials and created to energise the spaces they live in. Her work has been featured in publications from Architectural Digest Mexico to Homes & Interiors Scotland, and is held in collections across New Zealand and internationally.
Whether you're drawn to a large statement work or something more intimate, there's something here for every wall.
